Level 3: Beginner/Intermediate Agility
Age/Enrollment Requirements: Dogs must be at least 12 months of age. Student must have approval from the Level 2 instructor that the stated skills for advancement have adequately been met or the required skill set has been learned at another training facility (agility training director must evaluate).
Class Content: The following skills will taught:
Teeter at full height in sequences
Table (stand, sits and downs for full trial count)
One obstacle lead-out from the table
Tire, Tunnel and all types of jumps
Weaves without guides
Forward distance work to contacts & jumps
Lateral distance work to 12 feet
Front, blind and rear cross and how to determine which type to use on course
Obstacle discrimination (i.e. tunnel/a-frame, tunnel-dog walk)
Short sequences (7-10 obstacles) with changes of direction
Class Location: Arena
Advancement Requirements: Dogs must demonstrate the following skills to advance to Level 4 Intermediate Agility:
Dog must be able to weave 12 poles from both sides without guides.
Dog must be able to do a full height teeter in a sequence
Handler has working knowledge of concepts and handling skills taught at this class level
Handler must have control of off-lead dog
Handler must be able to lead out 1obstacle with dog in a stay.
Dog can perform 8-10 obstacle sequences
